The Quad Care Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, sanitary, and welcoming environment throughout the Quad Care facility. This position supports the health and well-being of children, families, staff, and visitors by ensuring classrooms, restrooms, common areas, offices, and other facility spaces meet established cleanliness and sanitation standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES SCOPE
• Clean and sanitize classrooms, restrooms, offices, break areas, hallways, entrances, and common areas.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and disinfect surfaces throughout the facility.
• Clean and sanitize high-touch surfaces according to established procedures.
• Restock paper products, soap dispensers, hand sanitizer stations, and housekeeping supplies.
• Collect and dispose of garbage and recycling.
• Report maintenance, safety, or sanitation concerns to Quad Care director.
• Follow established cleaning schedules and sanitation procedures.
• Maintain housekeeping equipment and storage areas in a clean and organized manner.
• Work cooperatively with teachers and staff to minimize disruption to childcare operations.
• Follow all Quad safety, health, and operational procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Education:
• High school diploma or GED preferred
•Training in cleaning, sanitation, or environmental services preferred
• Certification in bloodborne pathogens, infection control, or OSHA standards (preferred but not required; may be provided upon hire)
Experience:
• Previous housekeeping, janitorial, or environmental services experience preferred
• Experience working in childcare centers, schools, or healthcare environments is a plus
• Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, disinfectants, and safety procedures
• Experience following structured cleaning schedules and compliance standards
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
• Knowledge of proper cleaning, sanitizing, and housekeeping procedures.
• Ability to safely use cleaning equipment, tools, and cleaning chemicals.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify cleanliness, safety, or maintenance concerns.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
• Dependability and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong verbal communication skills and ability to interact professionally with children, families, coworkers, and leadership.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach for extended periods of time
• Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 25–50 pounds regularly
• Frequent use of hands for cleaning, scrubbing, and operating equipment
• Ability to tolerate exposure to cleaning chemicals (with proper PPE)
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions
• Capable of performing repetitive tasks such as mopping, vacuuming, and wiping surfaces
• Required to climb stairs or step stools to clean elevated surfaces
